Recycling your Christmas tree

Many communities offer Christmas tree recycling programs, and we're lucky to have a few close to Mistletoe Tree Farm.

Most trees have a lifespan of about  eight to twelve years, when they absorb carbon dioxide and emits fresh oxygen.  You can keep the benefits moving forward by recycling your live Christmas tree.

Most recycled trees are composted or turned into mulch, which may find its way to parks, playgrounds or even your front yard.

Here are some recycling drop-off locations nearby,

  • HETCHLER PARK. 4260 S. Greenfield Road. Open Dec. 25 to Jan. 8, daily 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • FREESTONE PARK. Overflow parking lot, west of the pickle ball courts. Open Dec. 26. to Jan. 8, daily 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • SUNBELT RENTALS. 1313 East Baseline Rd.. Open Dec. 26 to Jan. 7. Monday through Saturdays (closed Sundays) 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Remember, these locations are for live trees only.  Trees must be clean or ornaments and decorations.

Thanks for gifting our planet by recycling!
